5000 Questions survey, part 9

401. Some say that high school is the best time of your life. Was that true for you?
I guess I'm having the time of my life right now - university allows for much more freedom, e.g. in terms of subjects you want to study. People are not that childish about drinking alcohol too, most know their limits. However, high school was a fun period of my life.

402. What do you find yourself encouraging others to try?
I often recommend music and tv shows to other people. I'm also quite good at finding free cultural events or cheap trips.

403. Which is better: Mel Brooks or Woody Allen?
I never quite figured out why Woody Allen is though to be so great. To me most of his films are either whiny or supercilious. Or both. On the other hand, Mel Brooks may be silly but can certainly make me cry from laugher... I guess the verdict is quite clear;)

404. When was the last time you were up all night?
I can't remember when I was up for all night, probably two years ago or so, but two weeks ago I slept an hours or so during an overnight campfire.

405. __ is life. The rest is just details. Fill in the blank.
That is hard to fill in, but I would say 'realising your full potential and being there for others'. Kind of a long answer, I know.

406. Are people too complex and different to be categorized?
Certainly. All the personality quizzes are fun, but it's pointless to take them seriously and divide peoples into a limited number of categories.

407. Is it good to have pride in your own race or does that separate people from each other because it makes them think of everyone else as 'outsiders'?
It's always good to br proud of who you are and what you've achieved, but it can't lead to looking down on everyone else. These are two different things.

408. What fictional story would you like to live through?
Oh, easy one. 'Pride and Prejudice', I beg of you!

409. Are cats or dogs smarter?
Good question. Dogs are selfless to the extreme, while cats are their polar opposites. I do hope the first approach is the sign of higher level of intelligence ;)

410. Have you ever guessed someone's password and broken into their email/diary/blog/myspace?
I've read a fragment of my then-friend's diary when I was about ten, but it was not protected in any way. Her sister just stole it to show it to me.

411. What teacher, if any, has effected you the most in your life?
I wouldn't point anyone who completely changed my life, but some of my Polish teachers did a good job in encouraging my interest in literature. My history teacher from second year of high school was memorable too, doing his best to make us form our own opinions.

412. Are you more easily bored or excited?
Excited. Actually, I get hyper for no decent reason, which often bugs my friends.

413. What's the bravest or most daring thing you have ever done?
I would say confessing my feelings required a lot of courage. I also pride myself on going abroad on my own for the first time.

414. "What's the point of robbery when nothing is worth taking?" (- Adam Ant)
I could understand someone who steals food, but I guess that's the only case.

Can't remember any that flabbergasted me, but one of my friends uses a nickname "Zlev" (polish for sink), which is absurd enough;)

419. What would your friends be surprised to learn about you?
My closest friends know nearly all there is to know about me. Maybe some crushes I had in the past would suprise them.

I don't hold grudges, so even if someone does, I don't remember it.

421. Who deserves an apology from you?

Sure, but my laptop has taken over its role most of the time.

No, it would be embarrassing to mistake one for another. Or even worse, have endless doubts whom to choose.

433. What one thing would you change about high school if you could?

Very rarely, but there were some such situations.

Everything happens only once, some situations are very similar but never the same.

446. Know of any conspiracy theories you think might be credible?
There's still a lot going on about trying to explain the plane crash in Smolensk... well, some bizzarre theories make sense. But I still think it was an accident.

My friends keep reminding me how important I am, but a sincere 'I missed you' or 'It's so good to have you here' is always a beautiful thing to hear.
